Hi! Thanks for visiting my All About Me page!
I am from a small rural town in Southeast Georgia, near Savannah. Growing up my father was the chairman of the Board of Education for 34 years for one of the state's most highly rated school systems, so education has always been very important in my family. This coupled with my love of children and teaching and learning lead me to pursue a degree in education.
I graduated in 2005 from Georgia State University with a Bachelors of Science in Education. After graduation I briefly taught preschool in the Atlanta area before moving into a full time position with Gwinnett County Public Schools as a 6-8th grade Title 1 reading support teacher and then as a 8th grade Language Arts teacher.
After moving to California last year when husband received a fabulously exciting new position with his company, I was lucky enough to land the Science Instructional Aide position at Glorietta Elementary. I liked it so much here that I pursued a full time teaching position when I received my California teaching credentials, and again I was incredibly lucky to be offered a job in one of California's best school districts!
My family and I also live in Orinda, and I have three kids of my own who attend another OUSD school. This is a fabulous community, and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to be your child's teacher!
